"[Mentor Seattle's] efforts to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline are crucial. By creating spaces where youth can express their concerns and learn from law enforcement and community leaders, Mentor Seattle provides an alternative narrative to the cycles of mistrust and misunderstanding. These workshops equip young people with the tools and support they need to pursue positive futures, thereby contributing to a more just and equitable society."

What do law enforcement professionals have to say about Mentor Seattle?
-
"On behalf of the King County Sheriff's Office, I write to express our strong support for Mentor Seattle and its exemplary work in fostering community engagement through workshops and round table healing circles. Over the past two years, our agency has had the privilege of collaborating with Mentor Seattle in monthly workshops that have proven invaluable in bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community we serve. Having worked with numerous mentorship organizations over my 16+ years of practice, I have seen many committed organizations work with and benefit this population, but never so intensely or holistically as Mentor Seattle. I’ve witnessed firsthand the unwavering commitment this team has to working with individual clients as well as in larger group settings, such as bringing their programming into youth detention centers. Many of these organizations talk a good game and are well intentioned, but often lack the intensive commitment and day-to-day follow through that Mentorship Seattle provides.

"I then realized it was more than just a shot at freedom. A shot at freedom.... what I meant by that is systematiclly, and mentally. It’s access to a better you . I see when people are in this program and mentoring with Nani they start wanting to flake on their hoods and Change they lives. It’s something I’ve never seen before on the hood tho. Shit I wanna change my life around now too. Seeing the opportunities they can offer. How real they are."

"This program has changed my entire life. I don’t know where I’d be mentally without it honestly. I can’t imagine what I’d become if I heard that I’d have to complete 16 years in prison. I’m a kid still myself in many ways. The love I have for Nani and bishop and Joan man I owe them my life. They made me realize that no matter what you go through; if you don’t hold yourself accountable - how are you supposed to learn to not do it again ? if it affects you or your future ?"
